In September 2005, SAFE® Academy organized the first International Fitness Convention in the history of the Middle-East, with the slogan of “Global Wellness”. The Convention featured some of the biggest names in the fitness industry in the world and was attended by the elite fitness professionals in Egypt, working in all fitness centers, sports clubs & hotel health-clubs. This was, by far, the biggest educational fitness event to ever take place in the Middle-East!

Since then, SAFE® Academy has organized a series of international fitness and mind-and-body conferences that revolutionized the fitness industry in Egypt and the Middle-East and set a new standard for fitness professionals in the region. SAFE is now organizing two international conventions every year; a mind-and-body conference around April/May and a fitness convention around October/November.

This year, due to Karim Strougo’s occupation with the launch of his new QuickSlim Studio in Pyramids, the ZEN Conference 2013 will take place in June in the beautiful new fitness studio at Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel where Strougo is now running fitness and yoga classes.

The ZEN Conference 2013 will feature some of SAFE® Academy’s latest workshops, such as “Applied Kinesiology for the Fitness Professional”, “Creative Stretching” and some of Karim Strougo’s latest master-classes: “YogaTone” and “In the Zone”. The conference will also feature YogaFit’s Level 4 Instructor Training, as well as their “Yoga Back” workshop.

I’d like to seize this opportunity to thank our wonderfully creative Web Designer, Susan Milbank, for her continued support and ingenuity. I would also like to thank Mr. Barry Curran and the management of Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel for hosting this year’s conference.
